In this edition of Pharmacy Forward, we explore practical ways to optimise your pharmacy's workflows, share proven strategies to improve efficiency, and highlight how our solutions can help you reduce manual tasks, boost service delivery, and free up more time for patient care.
In this issue:
With rising service demands and increasing pressure on resources, pharmacy teams are looking for practical ways to save time, reduce errors, and manage workload more effectively. That’s where smarter workflows come in.
We’re redefining how pharmacy teams manage dispensing. Batch Assemble is a structured, high-volume approach ideal for experienced teams and repeat dispensing. Scan to Assemble offers a more guided, step-by-step method that's perfect for new staff, solo dispensing, or busy periods, and eliminates the need for an assembly check.
Batch Assemble Workflow
Structured. Reliable. Time-Saving. Designed to allow you to batch process multiple scripts for multiple patients at once.
Variations of this workflow have already transformed operations for hundreds of community pharmacies. It's ideal for teams that rely on structured processes and shared responsibilities.
Why Batch Assemble Works:
Scan to Assemble Workflow
Intuitive. Precise. Error-Reducing. Process scripts at pack level and remove the need for an assembly check.
Our newest addition, Scan to Assemble, takes a more step-by-step approach, ideal for new staff or high-pressure environments.

Adapting to Your Workflow Needs
While each workflow has its strengths, what makes these workflows so effective is their adaptability. Pharmacies can choose the workflow that best suits their team setup, prescription types, or time pressures and adjust their approach as their needs evolve. We know that every pharmacy operates differently; that’s why our technology isn’t a one-size-fits-all. It’s flexible, configurable, and built to grow with your business.

A Warm Welcome: New Pharmacy Partners On Board
More pharmacy teams are choosing Positive Solutions, including Superdrug, who have made the move after over 22 years with a previous supplier.
As the UK’s leading provider of pharmacy technology solutions, we’re proud to be Superdrug’s new technology partner. Their decision to adopt Analyst PMR reflects a shared commitment to innovation, patient safety, and pharmacy-first thinking.
The rollout was completed across the main estate between July and November 2024, with their digital hub added in January, all successfully completed exactly as planned. The move is already delivering substantial improvements across their 183 pharmacy stores. Notably, the new system is expected to save up to 45 hours each week for each store by streamlining processes and enhancing workflow.

Alongside Superdrug, we’ve welcomed a wave of independent pharmacies and regional groups who are making the move to a fully integrated, adaptable system, helping them reduce admin pressure, streamline services, and put more focus back on patient care.
We’re proud to welcome every new pharmacy team to the Positive Solutions community, and we’re excited to help you deliver even greater impact in the months ahead.
Alongside our day-to-day work, we’ve also been supporting some important initiatives. Here’s a snapshot of what we’ve been up to.
In Memory of Steve
In memory of our colleague and friend, Steve Birtles, the Positive Solutions team recently took on a virtual Land’s End to John O’Groats challenge, covering 1,189 miles through walking and cycling between 2nd and 8th June.
The challenge brought our team together in a meaningful way, with every step and mile helping to raise funds for two charities close to Steve’s family: British Heart Foundation and Prostate Cancer UK.
Whether out on a bike, walking at home, or clocking up steps in the office, this was a true team effort. We’re incredibly thankful to everyone who donated, shared the cause, or supported us throughout the week.
Men’s Health Week
From 9th to 15th June, we marked Men’s Health Week, helping to raise awareness and encourage open conversations about men’s mental health and wellbeing.
To show our support, the team wore blue to raise awareness and spark conversations across the business. Throughout the week, we shared messaging aimed at reducing stigma and opening up dialogue around mental health. A range of resources was also made available to colleagues, offering support for themselves and those around them.
We’re proud to continue supporting causes that matter to our team and the wider community, and there’s more to come. From fundraising to awareness campaigns, we’ll be taking part in further initiatives throughout the year.
